| In the Summer of 2012, the National Youth Music Theatre will be collaborating with the American musical theatre composer, lyricist and playwright, JASON ROBERT BROWN, who has been hailed as “one of Broadway’s smartest and most sophisticated songwriters since Stephen Sondheim” (Philadelphia Inquirer).
SARAH REDMOND will direct SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD – one of his best-loved works – and, under the composer’s direction, we shall also give the West End première of 13 THE MUSICAL.
Jason Robert Brown will attend the recalls in February and will work with us throughout our residential rehearsals in April and in August.
Our founder, JEREMY JAMES TAYLOR OBE, will also direct Howard Goodall’s THE DREAMING, which we shall present at the International Youth Arts Festival.
In addition to those selected for the casts of 13, Songs For A New World and The Dreaming, we shall also select a number of other talented young people to work with us in residence in August and to perform in a NYMT GALA CONCERT to be given in the West End on Sunday 26 August.
