NYMT Youth Ambassadors
DAVID GRANT
My name is David Grant, I’m 19 years old and currently in my first year at Trinity College of Music studying B.A Hons Musical Theatre. I first joined NYMT in 2009 for their production of The Hired Man, which was performed at the Hull Truck. This was my first experience of NYMT and I have since been part of the Sweeney Todd company which performed at Village Underground in 2010, and then at the Rose Theatre in 2011. I have also been involved in a charity performance at RADA and a performance in Leicester Square’s West End Live. Since I joined the company, it has been as much of a family for me as it has been a source of performance experience and I’m immensely looking forward to the 2012 season, which promises to be so exciting.
LIZZIE WOFFORD
I auditioned for NYMT in 2008 and 2009 but didn’t get a place in any of their productions. In 2010 I got into the company and also landed the role of Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd at the Village Underground. I was then given the opportunity to play the role again in Kingston in 2011. It was wonderful to be able to work on such an extraordinary piece of theatre with top industry professionals once, but to do it twice was unbelievable. It took me three years to get into NYMT and it is the most amazing experience. I have worked with inspirational people and have met some of my closest friends. NYMT has a way of putting young people in a completely professional situation yet still allowing them to have the most amazing fun. I am currently in my first year of training at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. NYMT is such a huge part of my life now and I’m absolutely thrilled to be one of the company’s youth ambassadors for 2012.
