Dear All,

We’ve had a fantastic start to our 2009 season! In May, we completed the first of our 3 Workshop programmes with great success. Hundreds of young people took part in skills based workshops in dance, drama, music and many others participated in our Taster sessions. We also held our first Masterclass with Neil Rutherford, Casting Director at the Ambassadors Theatre Group and an NYMT alumni. We have lots more planned so make sure you keep up to date with our news about our next set of workshops in July and October.

We have many forthcoming events, including our prestigious NYMT Press Launch at The Arts Theatre in Leicester Square. Dominic Francis, our Producer, will be announcing our exciting 2009 season, including the fantastic news that Tom Chambers is our new Patron!

And for this season we welcome a talented new company for NYMT’s 2009 shows.

We are proud to be working on our next show for July, The Hired Man, book and lyrics by Melvin Bragg, with music by Howard Goodall and directed by Andy Pearson an NYMT alumni. The 26 young people in the cast will be performing this wonderful musical at The Hull Truck Theatre in Hull from 5th – 8th August 2009, and we welcome you all to come along and experience it!

Our next workshop production will be, Totally Over You, by the internationally recognised playwright, Mark Ravenhill and directed by Suzy Graham-Adriani. This one night only performance on 21st August will be held in London, with a cast of 20 young performers.

Also on 4th September, we are thrilled to be staging a charity performance of our Hull show, The Hired Man, at London’s most famous drama school, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

Of course none of our work would be possible without Dom, our Producer, who has worked hard to ensure that NYMT has a future. He is responsible for our fundraising efforts and has had many successes over the last year.
