SUMMER SKILLS COURSE at SEVENOAKS SCHOOL
7- 12 August 2012
Join us for our exciting new residential course this summer!
The six-day course will be led by our outstanding team of directors, choreographers and musical directors in the glorious surroundings of Sevenoaks School and its award-winning performing arts complex, The Space. This course runs alongside our rehearsals for "13" - written and directed by Jason Robert Brown - which will be performed at The Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue from 22-25 August.
Enjoy making new friends and building confidence in musical theatre skills - a great way to spend a week of your summer holidays! Learn new skills and develop existing strengths. And don't forget Cabaret Night - a chance to perform whatever you want or to devise something especially for the occasion with your fellow course members.
Here are some examples of our planned activities:
* Vocal, Dance & Acting Classes
* Stage-combat
* Physical theatre and mime
* Circus skills
* Song Writing
* Hip-hop / Street Jazz
* Script writing
* Audition Technique
We shall also look at the music of our Artist in Residence, Jason Robert Brown, and at the musicals of Rodgers & Hammerstein. There will be many opportunities for solo and ensemble work and a chance to perform in our evening Cabaret. (Remember to bring your own favourites!)
Course Fees: £485. The fee covers the cost of all food and accommodation for the five nights, as well as all tuition and pastoral care.
N.B. We'll send you a helpful guide to fundraising. It's packed with great ideas. And we're also here to provide advice if you need it.
